Aprašymas

A Very British Bomb is the first authoritative history of Britain as a nuclear weapons power. Written with access to newly declassified Top Secret Government documents it gives the most complete account yet published of the United Kingdom's development, deployment and politics of nuclear weapons, from the scientific breakthroughs which occurred in the early twentieth century, through the Second World War, the Cold War, to the present. It tells the very human story of the tens of thousands of men and women, who spent and continue to spend their lives working on what amounts to one of the most expensive and sensitive national endeavours ever undertaken by the British state.
